Happy Chinese Lunar New Year 2023

Lunar New Year 2023 is the Year of the Rabbit and begins the following day, 22 January 2023. More specifically, it lasts until 9 February 2024.

The date is determined by the Chinese lunar calendar, which is based on the cycles of the moon and the sun and is usually 21-51 days later than the Gregorian calendar (which is used internationally).

Lunar New Year, also known as Chinese New Year, is celebrated over multiple days and marks the beginning of the next 12 months on the traditional lunar and solar calendars.

It is celebrated by many people of Chinese descent and is also observed in other Asian countries, including Korea, Japan, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines and Singapore.
