In terms of sectors, the planting industry index fell by 5.63 points to 7023.20, the energy index fell by 2.69 points to 706.50, the financial services index rose by 22.02 points to 16735.05, the industrial products and services index rose by 0.28 points to 185.33, and the telecommunications and media index expanded by 3.81 points to 589.75.

The volume of trading in the main market climbed to 1.46 billion shares from 1.54 billion shares worth rm1.43 billion yesterday.
